Here is my painting "Floris," featuring the head and trunk of an elephant. It’s an oil painting measuring 160x80 cm, born out of my deep fascination with the unique textures and forms of this incredible animal. The process was one of patience, where I built up layer upon layer of paint to create rich depth and detail.
What intrigued me most during the creation was the elephant’s skin. Up close, it almost feels abstract, with intricate patterns and lines that only reveal themselves when you examine it closely. It's like a piece of abstract art on its own, yet from a distance, you see the realistic form of the elephant come to life. That interplay between abstraction and realism is what excites me most.
I’ve kept the background intentionally simple, with natural tones that enhance the elephant’s presence without distracting from it. The painting is framed in a sleek black floater frame, crafted in Italy, which further elevates the work. "Floris" is for sale, and I hope it evokes the same sense of wonder in you as I experienced while creating it.
